'No teacher disciplines our child... except us'
In our opinion, we find that education and discipline goes hand in hand. A student is not able to learn if he or she is not disciplined to learn and be taught by his/her teachers. As Confucius once said

The character development of a child is very much the responsibility of parents. However, in the modern world that we live in today, parents have difficulty carrying out these responsibilities confidently.

Do you agree with Minister Masagos that ‘old cultures, such as ordering huge quantities and varieties at banquets’ are to blame for food wastage in Singapore?
While Minister's opinion of 'old cultures' contributing to food wastage is not without merit, I believe that there are many other more high-leverage areas that can reduce the amount of food wasted. For one, food

Surely it is not reasonable for parents to leave the disciplining of their school-going children entirely up to them. A child typically spends six to ten hours in school, five days a week. This is a huge amount of time away from home. As child psychologists have rightly pointed out, there is a great need for rules and consequences to be enforced in a consistent manner in order for them to be effective. Consequently, children should not be subject to one set of expectations about their behaviour in school and a different set of expectations back at home. Ideally, the school and parents should work together to come up with a common set of expectations about student behaviour such that it minimises confusion on the part of the child.
